Announcements 3/25- 3/29

The Equipment Room will be closed Friday, March 29th and Monday, April 1st. Checkouts over the Easter Holiday are by Special Permission only and will need approval from the Production Supervisor, Dan Beard. 

Studio availability may fluctuate in the coming weeks due to construction.

For first-time Connect2 users, please follow these steps to create your account:

1) Log in to Connect2 using 'Student Account'. This will connect your DUO authentication with Connect2.

2) Email J_Bean@baylor.edu requesting roles and permissions be added to your account. This allows class-specific equipment permissions to be made available to you.

Roles and permissions may take up to 2-3 days to be assigned. Please complete this registration process well in advance of any necessary bookings.

Policies

Late Equipment Check-in Fees

Any student returning equipment late must sign a Late Check-in Log and the appropriate fee will be charged to the student’s bill.

  • Up to 1 hour late on the same day- $25
  • More than 1 hour late on the same day- $35
  • 1 day late- $55
  • Each additional day late- +$45

If equipment is damaged, lost or stolen while in the student’s possession, the student accepts responsibility for all costs and charges for replacement and/or repair.

EQUIPMENT IS IN YOUR POSSESSION UNTIL IT IS CONFIRMED AS "CHECKED-IN" BY A STAFF MEMBER. DO NOT DROP OFF EQUIPMENT AND LEAVE IT UNATTENDED WITHOUT CHECK-IN.

Additional Policies:

  • As of Spring 2023, all specialty equipment including dollies, sliders, focus pullers, Easyrigs, gimbals and upper-level cameras are exclusively available to students that have completed a tutorial build-out with a staff member. Bookings for staff training are now available in the 'Training' portal. 
  • All studio spaces will be locked unless a reservation has been made. If you wish to book a studio during unavailable hours, please email Jessica Bean at least 24hrs in advance of your requested time.
  • All productions must have a pre-production packet approved by Daniel Beard before confirmation. If no pre-production packet is submitted, the booking may be subject to cancellation.
  • Only equipment reserved through Connect2 will be processed during checkout and no last-minute additions will be accepted. Please ensure that your list is correct and complete before submitting.
  • All equipment booked must be accepted at checkout. Rejecting reserved equipment during checkout will not be permitted.
  • The user who submitted the booking needs to be present at both checkout and check-in. 
  • If any equipment needs to be added/removed before checkout, please email Jessica Bean at least 24hrs in advance of checkout time with a detailed list of items for update.
  • The Equipment Room calendar runs on a 24hr clock. Equipment booked will be available to you for a maximum of 24hrs, unless booking on a weekend. On weekends, check-in time extends to the next available weekday. Please make sure that both your checkout and check-in times work with your schedule.
